The Electrical Merchants' Association (EMA) is not for profit making body serving the electrical industry and trade with the objectives of safeguarding and promoting interests of the industry.
To associate is to share, to share is to feel one with all those connected with the same industry or trade. Out of unity emerges a united voice and strength for the articulation of problems, for solution and better prospects. For an industry, progress emanates from better understanding and mutual co-operation amongst its members, and meaningful services through a common forum – an Association and hence its need.
To Promote co-operation among persons, firms. companies connected with the electric trade and industry in India, whether as importers, exporters, wholesale or retail dealers, manufacturers, contractors, consultants or commission agents. with a view to their adopting a common policy and collectively taking such steps as may be considered necessary or expedient to further and safeguard the interest of trade and industry.
Shri Nishel Shah was elected as the 74th President of The Electric Merchants' Association(EMA), Mumbai, on Thursday the 29th of June, at the 80th AGM of the Association. Mr. Shah will take charge of the 1200 member strong association, which has its roots from the pre-independence era and has it presence allover Greater Mumbai, Navi Mumbai and Thane. The Electric Merchats' Association, established 1937, has its base at the heart of Lohar Chawl cosidered as Mecca of Electrical Market in India.
